The soundtrack of the upcoming musical, "Magna Carta: The Musical Trial of King John" by playwright Colin Wilson and songwriter and producer Chuck Quappe, is now available in stores.

Recently, the Governor, Mr. Bruce Dinwiddy, was presented with a complimentary copy of the newly released music CD and the published play, said a press release.

The play is being performed locally by the Cayman Drama Society and the music CD is a locally produced recording that boasts 19 musical numbers performed by the original cast, including the Cayman National Choir. The release said the CD features, in performance order, Cynthia Arie, Chuck Quappe, Martin Tedd, Kate Bowring, Olivia Scott, Teri Quappe, Vanessa Hansen, Barrie Quappe, Peter Kosa, Peter Riley, Navid Sadrzadeh and Tony Rowlands.

Musicians include: Chuck Quappe on guitar and piano; Chris Bowring on keyboards; Royce Scott on bass; Mark McTaggart on drums; Jeff Parker on percussion; and Sue Horrocks on Woodwinds.

The release said producers and writers of the CD, Chuck and Barrie Quappe, combined the diversity of musical genres and vocal talent with instrumental and performances by The Entire Company. The musical genres featured include classical, celtic, rock, new age, opera, blues, and folk.

"We wish to thank all the cast members for their tireless efforts and willingness to 'do another take'. For people who have never recorded before, they were all dedicated and gave us their best", comments Chuck and Barrie.

The release said the production is a fast moving musical spanning 17 years during the era of King John (the villain from the stories of Robin Hood).

The production is already in rehearsals, and is scheduled to open on 20 March with performances through 26 April.

The Magna Carta music CD can be purchased for $12 at Phillips Electrical Box Office, the Quincentennial Shop on Fort Street, the Television Centre (Colin Wilson) and at all Prospect Playhouse Performances.

All profits from the CD sales go directly to the Cayman Drama Society.
