The Story of Jack and he Beanstalk, a traditional English pantomime, is the latest production of the Cayman Drama Society (CDS), opened last Thursday (14 January), at the Prospect Playhouse. Performances of the pantomime are scheduled for 23, 24, 29, 30 January, with a matinee performance on 31 January.

Some of the highlights of the play are: the sensational "Spanish" dance by actors Martin Tedd, who plays the major female role of Mrs. Durden, and Tony Rowlands, one of CDS' most stalwart actors, who portrays the pompous bad-tempered Mayor of Mango-Wurzel-on-the-Wold, and Maisie the moo-cow, Stefan Wesolowski and Bob Henzel; Jack (Jennifer Ahearn) and Alice's (Ingrid Ugland) arrival to the "Castle of the Wicked Giant," as well as the "magic of the Beanstalk Fairy, performed by Kate Bowring.

The pantomime is a well-put together production that will thrill children and adults alike.
