Sitting around the bar, swaying to the music, singing along with the performers and laughing to the comedy routines is all part of the nature of the Olde Tyme Music Hall.

The Cayman Drama Society (CDS) has revived this style of entertainment that was popular in pubs and special establishments around England before movies and television were invented.

Members of CDS have pulled together a variety of acts and changed the stage of the Prospect Playhouse into an old English pub.

Under the wit of chairman Alan Hewitt, the Olde Tyme Music Hall includes songs by Wendy Moore, Stephen Taylor and Anita and Gabrielle Wheaton.

Peach Blossom, Arthur Mussel and Lettie Lamamoure, three familiar characters from CDS variety nights, will be appearing.

A ball balanced on a handkerchief is one of the magic tricks performed the Amazing Mystico.

Taking a look into the future, a silent movie will be staged, and other comedic skits will provide a giggle.

The curtain opens at 7:30pm Friday and Saturday nights and admission is $12:50. Reservations can be made through Omeria at 949-5585.
