Adapted for the stage by local playwright Colin Wilson, who directs and also stars in the role of Edward Rochester, a lonely, embittered Englishman with a small orphan girl left in his charge, and a man with a shameful secret hidden away in the dark recesses of his manse. Arriving to help him with his charge is the young and innocent Miss Eyre, played by Gwen Diaz, but does Jane know about Rochester's guilty curse? What terrible truths will she discover in the Rochester house, an estate called Thornfield?
Others in the cast are comprised of a number of actors who just finished the Drama Society's hilarious production of "Fawlty Towers," including Roland Stacey, Gretchen Allen, Tim Walsh, and Kerri Kennedy, who is producer of "Jane Eyre." The rest of the cast is made up of 12 year old Helen Godfrey as the orphan child, Freda Bettany, Wendy Hillman and Marcie Parsons, as estate staff. The gothic drama continues next week on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, also at 8pm. Tickets are $12 adults and $5 children and students, and are available at the offices of J.E.C.
