Topics on the agenda included the election of new officers, the proposal of amendments and a report of last year's activities from the retiring Chairperson, Mrs. Penny Phillips. Mrs. Phillips reported on the Society's productions of last year, most notably, Fiddler on The Roof, Sleeping Beauty, and Beirut. Of the three, Fiddler on the Roof was considered the most successful as well as professional production.
Mrs. Phillips also reported on her decision to terminate rehearsals in the Society's production of Aladdin.
The production would have been staged last December as the Christmas Pantomime.
Mrs. Phillips told the society members that "lack of participation" from the cast resulted in the ending of rehearsals. There was also discussion following a motion to allow society members to vote on proposals by proxy.
The society has already begun work on the production of several one act plays scheduled for the end of February and the beginning of March. The Drama Society's new slate of officers is as follows: Chairman Mr. Tony Osborn; Secretary Ms. Cynthia West; Treasurer Mrs. Caroline Wylie; as well as General Members Mrs. Hilda Bodden-Fixx, Mr. Colin Wilson, Mr. Tony Rowlands, Mr. Peter Phillips, Mr. Sydney Coleman, Mr. Alan Hall.
