With the Governor Mr. Alan Scott and his wife Mrs. Joan Scott in attendance the recent Gala night for Fiddler on the Roof proved to be a success.
The evening was organised by the Kiwaniannes as part of their continued effort to raise sufficient funds for a Red Cross ambulance.
Margaret Byles, speaking on behalf of the service club, said that it is hoped that approximately Cl$500 was raised on the evening.
Before the performance began at the Harquail Theatre patrons were treated to champagne and hors-d oeuvres laid out by the Kiwaniannes.
According to Margaret Byles approximately 100 people attended the evening. from page A1 The musical, staged by the Cayman Drama Society and the Music Club, depicts the lives of Jewish villagers in Russia during the beginning of the Russian revolutionary period.
With a cast of well over 30 this musical brings to light new names in amatuer acting and the familiar names of those who performed in various productions over the years.
Fiddler on the Roof will be showing at the Harquail Theatre Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 through to 28 May with two matinee performances on 21 and 28 May beginning at 2:30.
