By Elizabeth Alexander Several of us from the Pines were guests of the Drama Society at a recent performance of the Sleeping Beauty pantomime. We greatly appreciate their courtesy and spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

It was held in the Workshop Theatre which has been redesigned with new seating arrangements. The atmosphere was appropriately intimate for this type of a play, which involves a great deal of audience participation.

The acting was outstanding and the costumes were very beautiful. Mr. Colin Wilson, the director, and Gordon Neilson who played the court jester, both urged children in the audience to boo the witch and call for the appearance of Fairy Crystal.

They soon got into the spirit of it all and before long we were all shouting. The dances and songs were delightful and the make-up extremely effective.

The opening song by Evelyn Andresen, accompanied by Mr. Jack Andresen, set the tone for the following numbers. As always, Evelyn's singing showed her usual professional touch.

For the children it meant long hours of rehearsal and late nights. But, they all showed a refreshing amount of energy as did the rest of the cast.

Those behind the scene worked smoothly and swiftly, and although they were not seen by the audience, deserve a great deal of credit for the total success of the pantomine.

We are looking forward to the May performance by the Drama Society of the "Fiddler on the Roof" which will be held at the Harquail Theatre. Evenings like this give us a great deal of joy.

Recent visitors to the Pines have included: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Koebke from Germany who have been coming to Cayman for ten years and never failed to come and see us at the Pines.

Last week, we were happy to welcome Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Greer and their children, Christy (4) and Clifton (2) from Washington, D.C. The children enjoyed touring the residence in my electric wheel chair and visiting our cockatiel, Bebe and the goldfish. We look forward to seeing them again on their next trip to Cayman.
