The fund is administered by the Cayman International Trust Company Ltd., and Mr. Tony Osborn, chairman of CDS, recently handed a cheque for the amount to Mr. Hugh Moore of CITCO.
The trust was decided upon last season when the society decided to put any profits made to a good cause.
Mr. Osborn told the first night audience of "The girl in a wheelchair" that the CDS Training fund was being established from the proceeds of the performances.
All profits from major productions this season will also go into the fund. This includes the next production, 'Vaudeville Daze' in November.
The show is loosely based on the old time music hall reviews and is directed by Jeff Parker. There will be four musical themes, from Cayman, London, Broadway and a Jazz selection.
With a variety of singers, dancers and a reenactment of an English melodrama, the show promises to be entertaining, said Mr. Parker.
