by Elizabeth Alexander Several residents of The Pines attended the opening of "Alice Queen of Wonderland" at the Harquail Theatre as guests of the Cayman Drama Society. We were all delighted with the very professional performance and beautiful costumes.

Colin Wilson is certainly to be congratulated on the clever adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass injected with lots of local Caymanian humour. We wish to thank all members of the cast and crew for giving us such an enjoyable evening. For anyone who has not yet seen it, you have a real treat in store.

The January birthday party held on Saturday the 18th was hosted by the Woman's Guild of East End. Following a service which included recitations by Mrs. Iona Conolly, Mrs. Merle Conolly and Miss Tonia Rankine the ladies served delicious refreshments of sandwiches, chicken salad, cake and fruit punch. Afterwards gifts were presented to all those with birthdays.

Guests from the community included Mrs. Louise Llewellyn, Mrs. Olivene Barnett, Mrs. Valda Bodden, Mrs. Lettice Garvin, Mrs. Leah Bush, Mrs. Dean Conolly, Mrs. Neatha Conolly, Mrs. Mercenta Bodden and Mrs. Marie Rankine.

Our Supervisor, Mrs. Anna Brown, thanked the members of the Guild and its President, Mrs. Ariel Forbes, for their efforts on our behalf. As the only Pines resident with a birthday this month I wish to express my appreciation as well.
