It is based on the two "Alice" books written by Lewis Carroll but with a strong local interest - a Cayman Mock Turtle, Gryff Bodden, and numerous mentions of well known Caymanian names, places, etc. including one scene portraying The Seven Mile Beach.
The Musical Director is Chris Bowring, Choreographer is Sue Kieran, Stage Manager - Tony Osborn and Producer - Juliette Smith (assisted by Debbie Wight).
The pantomime will be performed (9 performances) at The Loyolla Hall, Walkers Road on the Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays of the last three weeks in January 1986 (16,17,18,23,24,25,30,31, and Feb. 1st.)
Auditions for parts (15 speaking parts) will be held on Friday August 30 from 8.00-10.00 p.m. and Saturday 31st August 2.30 p.m.-6.00 p.m. both at The Town Hall, George Town. (The part of Alice has already been cast.)
There are also very important chorus line parts who will be on stage most of the time, where we require singers (at least six) and dancers (at least eight).
Anybody who is interested in learning to dance are very welcome and should come along at the auditions and meet Sue Kieran (Sue taught ballet at The Royal School of Ballet, London).
Children are very welcome and Sue particularly wants children to play flowers, trees, fish, etc.
Anybody interested in backstage work, costume making, front of house, etc. please let CDC know - they require lots and lots of help.
