'Tis the season to be merry, and there's certainly a lot of that feeling at the Town Hall where the Cayman Drama Society is in the final throes of its rehearsals for its forthcoming pantomime, "CINDERELLA." The show doesn't actually open until 7 January, but with the Christmas festivities already gathering momentum, cast and crew are endeavouring to get in as many nights' work as possible without missing too many parties. A pantomime, for those uninitiated in the traditional British Christmas fare, is what has been described as a musical farce. Rumour has it that Peter Phillips' sets will be even more impressive than the ones he built for Jack and the Beanstalk last year, and some very stunning costumes are being made by Anita Munyard.

Tickets go on sale outside the Scotia Bank Building on Mondayk 14 December, and doubtless canny Christmas shoppers will buy them as presents for those children and adults who have everything. Let's face it, the weeks after Christmas can seem pretty flat when all the excitement of the holidays has worn off, so a visit to CINDERELLA would brighten anyone's new year.
