The Cayman Drama Society is offering to name its new little theatre for any organisation or individual generous enough to contribute $25,000 to its fund raising campaign.

Clearing is under way at the building site near the Cayman Racquet Club, and performances could begin late in the year, provided there is enough public support. The total cost of the building, which will also be available to other cultural, business and social groups, is estimated at $40,000. About $22,000 is available from society resources.

Donors who want to help with smaller amounts are also being offered recognition. Those who give $5,000 will have their names inscribed on a brass plaque on the side of the building, and will receive two seats for life for each production of the drama society.

Donors of $1,000 will be mentioned in a "roll of honor" in the theatre auditorium, and $250 will get the donor's name engraved on a seat.
