Skip McSorley has been elected as the new Chairman of the Cayman Drama Society for 1974. Other officers elected, at the annual general meeting on January 23, are Gale Shaw (Secretary), Jim McClure (Treasurer) and Keith Ball, Peter Phillips, Val Morgan, Jack Dredge, and Mike Austin as Committee Members. At the meeting special praise was given to Peter Phillips and his team who were responsible for the successes of the 1973 productions. The 1974 programme will be discussed by the Committee on February 6 when they meet at the home of Gale Shaw. A representative of the Society told THE COMPASS that plans for the building of the theatre are still in a very early stage, but with efforts from members and from the community.

It could be achieved. The initial estimate for a small scale theatre is in the region of $50,000.
