Val and John Morgan make their second dual appearance on the Cayman stage when the Cayman Drama Society presents "Busybody" - a mystery-comedy by Jack Popplewell, on June 26, 27, 28 and 29. This talented couple first performed for Cayman audiences in "See How They Run" last November, with Val as another busybody, Miss Skillon, and John as the confused and very funny 'Bishop of Lax'. In "Busybody" - John plays Chief Inspector Baxter, a detective investigating a reported murder. His antagonist, "The Busybody" is a cleaning woman, Mrs. Piper, played by Val Morgan. Baxter and Mrs.

Piper turn out to be old school chums, an acquaintance Baxter would rather forget. Mrs. Piper prefers to "collaborate" and help Baxter solve the mystery. The situation becomes hilarious as Mrs. Piper. "Takes Over". Baxter loses control of the situation, Mrs. Piper, and his temper! Val and John prove themselves old pros at theatre work. Val first began her acting at school in Wales and joined a touring repertory group at age 16. She played four seasons in Repertory throughout England and Wales appearing in over 100 different plays. After her marriage to John Morgan she continued her acting career as an amateur and has directed and appeared in several Drama Societies in England, Trinidad and Guyana, wherever her husband's career has taken them. Among the plays she has appeared in are "The Crucible", "Deep Blue Sea", "Point of Departure", "The Barrets of Wimpole Street", "Rebecca" and "Summer and Smoke". No slouch either, when it comes to things theatrical, John has worked with several Acting Societies in England, both as actor, producer, and general "Washer Up" since "Variety" days in the R.A.F. Intelligence service.

The plays he remembers best include Chekhov's "The Proposal", "Look back in anger", "Worms Eye View", 'Romanoff and Juliet", and "The Long the Short and the Tall". John's post as manager of "The Royal Bank Trust" has brought them to our island and we are sure to enjoy their performance in "Busybody" and other productions to come. Tickets will be on sale shortly for this next rib-tickling production. Watch for further adverts for "Busy Body".
